The Grand Palace and The Emerald Buddha Temple

  • The Grand Palace      was built by King Rama I in 1782.  It consists of the royal residences, throne halls and the Emerald Buddha temple.  It was a permanent  residence of kings from 1782-1901.  Although the King family doesn not live here, they still go here to preside over the royal ceremonies all year round.
