Wat Bang Kung (Kai Bang Kung)

Wat Bang Kung (Kai Bang Kung)

Bangkung Temple      is one of the rare Thailand sites selected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.  Since 1768 it was used as a camp to train soldiers in all kinds of Thai Marshall arts such as boxing or sword fighting.  It was abandon for almost 200 years until in 1967 when it was renovated.  The highlight of the temple is the main chapel which has been covered by a Banyan tree.  Inside the chapel is a large Buddha image which was covered with gold leaves by the locals.
